My name is Laura Schick and I'm an ABA Behavioral Therapist at TLC. I'm a born and raised Michigander with a deep love for football, service to others, and exploring the great outdoors. I graduated in spring 2022 with a Bachelor's Degree in Behavioral Health with a focus on Childhood Trauma and Disorders from Grand Canyon University. My younger brother was diagnosed with Autism when he was 2 years old and growing up with him I found a special love for kids on the spectrum.
Over the years I've worked in many different fields from coffee shops, to veterinary offices, nannying, and working at a preschool. No matter where I found myself, I was always drawn toward children and understanding who they are as their own unique selves. After leaving my dreams of being a veterinarian, I began researching careers working with children. I was immediately drawn to the world of working with children on the Spectrum. After completing my degree, I started my work in ABA in June of 2022 after discovering the incredible facility that is TLC. I love that families can get multiple types of treatment and support through one organization.
My dream is to one day have my own Equine (horse) Therapy Ranch for children diagnosed with ASD or other childhood disorders. Blending my love of animals and kids sounds like the most wonderful way to spend my week. Outside of TLC I'm very involved in my church serving in kids ministry and as a Bible Quizzing coach. I also enjoy spending time tending my garden and growing various house plants.
